He's definitely surprised to hear from her considering their last unfortunate run-in, but the message immediately piques his interest because Izumo had been acting off -- to put it lightly -- and well, the fact that it wasn't her suddenly explains a lot. But it also leads to a lot more questions]

"OH MY GOD GET OUT OF HAVEN NORTH"), most are static since he just waited as long as possible before hanging up. a few will be half-formed sentences, and one sounds like a cut-off apology.]

but yes here lies the peace of mind of Belt Lads 1 and 2. that is, Gilbert is currently in the process of unclipping and removing the belt remains from his arms and will be helping Oz to do the same. naturally, after everything that had happened in the last stretch of the event, he's completely silent.

[ after his talk with leo, elliot knows he's far from done that evening. he does, however, allow himself a few minutes to himself in the communal area of their housing complex once leo has gone back into the room, just to collect himself once more. there were a lot of things he still can't swallow from that discussion, but he'll dwell about all that later. there are still things he needs to do.

and so, after about fifteen minutes alone, he quietly shuffles back into room 6.2, this time seeking out the more familiar of the blondes. he's careful to poke the right lump. ]

[ Ada doesn't remember anything. And when she wakes up, nothing is anything like what she remembers. There are rocks driving straight through their house - through the bedroom - and she sees the piano, both a gift and a horrid symbol, lying in pieces on the ground. There's a strange sound of wind from far away. And there's no one else in the building.

But she doesn't panic. Even when she steps outside and sees walls of earth towering around her, she doesn't panic. Sure, she's trembling, but she can't cry - she just has to ask. She has to talk to someone. More than anything, she has to make sure he's safe.

[Oz has spent the entire few past days single-mindedly zeroed in one fact: that he can't die here, that he has things to do and people to rescue and go back to, and even if he can't find Morgan and Ada, that didn't have to mean the thing he was afraid of most.]

[but then he hears Ada's voice and he realizes just how much he hasn't handled it at all]
