Who can claim that they know Oz best? Gil is Oz's closest and dearest friend, and the time spent apart and the gap in their ages hasn't done a thing to change that. He's proven that the idea of 'forever' can definitely be trusted when it comes to his loyalty. Oz likes to think that they've come a long way from master and servant, and stand more as equals now. And while the incident back home hangs heavy on Oz's mind, he's decided to be more honest with Gil about his fears and feelings. Together, they'll most definitely find a way out of their predicament, but for now, Oz would like to spend some time with his best friend.
Or he'd like to, if Haven doesn't keep on fucking things up for the both of them. As it stands, Oz is even more relieved to have Gilbert at his side. With the appearance of more and more people from his world, as well as more problems that naturally accompany them wherever they go -- he's in need of someone he can completely and absolutely trust by his side. A part of him also wants to be more reliable, but considering his track record, he keeps on falling into situations that end up worrying and stressing out Gil. It's incredibly frustrating -- he only wants to help, but Haven seems to have other plans for them.

There was a time when Alice was the only reason Oz was living for. The memory of her sacrifice has Oz feeling guilty even now, even with his resolve to do better. He's no knight, he's resolved not to be one (not to be like Cheshire). Instead, he's caught between the idea of leaving Alice and keeping her from danger and staying by her side for as long as possible. He knows which one Alice wants, but even that isn't enough to dissuade the fear that he'll hurt her again. Her death in Haven has exacerbated most of his feelings, but has also pushed Oz to do something about their situation here. He's not going to lay back and watch Alice get hurt because of Haven, not anymore. But is it alright for him to continue to stay with her as well?
And because Oz is splendid at not answering the most important questions he needs to address, he's continued to try and do his best for Alice. But Haven is taking its toll on him, and he finds himself more and more afraid for Alice -- who now remembers the truth and doesn't have the power of B-rabbit anymore. The added appearance of Lacie has complicated things on Oz's end as well, as he now believes that he shouldn't have kept the truth of Lacie from Alice. But he's so tired. And he's so afraid. He wants what's best for Alice. Each time she gets hurt, he takes it as a personal failure.

Oz has a huge amount of respect for Sharon, who's proved her worth on several occasions (like rescuing him from everything ever), and has shown that she's capable of not only protecting herself, but also others. He's still protective of her despite that and looks out for her as a friend, rather than as a lady who needs a chaperone. He still has some residual feelings left over from his first heart-pounding encounter with her too, okay! After recent events in Haven, Oz has only become more determined to be there for her, as well as punching Kite in the stupid face.
Sharon seemed to be someone who Oz felt, despite what happened, would always endure. Especially with the strength and support of Break by her side. After he found out the truth of what happened, he was very afraid for her. Having someone you love turn on you -- for whatever reason -- is always an incredibly hard burden to bear. So far, Sharon and Break's relationship hasn't wavered in Oz's eyes, though just the fact that this had to happen is an uncomfortable weight on Oz's mind. If he tried harder, if he had been there faster, if he had made some kind of progress about their imprisonment, would Break have resorted to such lengths? Would Sharon have suffered? He doesn't know the answer to these questions. What he does know for sure is that he'd do his best to stay at Sharon's side and strive to be someone she can rely on in the future.

They have an eternal love-hate relationship. Break enjoys calling Oz a brat, and Oz enjoys calling Break an old man. Together, they make a A+ team of trolls (especially where Gilbert is concerned), but they're more likely to end up squabbling over sweets. Break is one of the strongest people Oz knows, with an awe-inspiring dedication for his own goals, whatever those may be. He may be one of the sketchy elderly, but he has most, if not all, of Oz's trust.
Unfortunately, recent events have shaken that trust. He understands why Break made the decisions he did, so he can't find it himself to judge or criticize Break for his choices. Instead, he wants to find a way to free Break from his circumstances by doing the only thing he knows how; offering himself as a piece. If Break can avoid involving Sharon in the future by using Oz in any way, then Oz would be perfectly fine with that. At the same time, he's aware that Break poses a far greater danger than he's ever had before -- like a sword that can point at anyone around him, regardless of Break's wishes. If it comes down to that, then Oz would choose to sacrifice himself above all else. Which is clearly an incredibly healthy way to deal with this situation, but the alternative -- putting down Break, or Gilbert having ot put down Break -- is something that he does not want.

Despite his allegiance to House Barma and tendency to worry like a mother hen, Oz appreciates Reim for the person he is, rather than what he can provide (though that's an added plus). He's a grounding influence for the losers of pandora hearts, and it doesn't hurt that he's a lot like Gil -- humble, protective of Break, tall, almond-shaped eyes, etc. While he doesn't come off as a physically strong exactly, Oz suspects that he has the mental fortitude needed to get things done and well, the type of person who's not easily rattled. He thinks Reim is kind of cool, but he's most likely to make Reim's life harder than admit this...
Has Oz expressed how grateful he is that Reim is here? Reim has a bond with Sharon and Break that's both stabilizing and dependable, and without his presence, Oz would have been far more worried for both of his friends. Now, he places a great deal of trust on the older man in regards to Break and Sharon and has also grown to depend on him for various other things (candles, extra napkins, and looking after Ada). Now that Barma's here, Oz is a bit more careful in what he asks/orders Reim to do. He's not Reim's master in any sense, and he doesn't want to make things awkward for the other man as well. He'd like to ask Reim about lord Barma, but he's not sure how to start either.

Ada is Oz's cute younger sister, the girl he's so used to taking care of when they were little, but who had to grow up when he wasn't there for her. He's grateful that Ada still looks up to him and loves him, but after figuring out the truth behind his existence, that gratitude has been tainted by his guilt. He's not truly Oz. He's not really Ada's brother. And it's unfair to grasp that bond when Ada deserves to know the truth, but Oz can't imagine telling Ada. Part of it is because he doesn't want to change the shaky dynamic they have in Haven, and the other because he's not convinced that Ada will be able to handle it. He's not aware that Ada is just as strong as he is, if not stronger.
Spending time with Ada sometimes feels like a dream. When he's in her company, he can pretend that nothing's wrong with his life. He can be at his happiest. But it's such a fleeting sensation, and it leaves Oz far more guilty than happy when it's over. Still, he does genuinely enjoy chatting and getting to know Ada -- making up for the years he's lost while in the Abyss -- and is warming up to more affectionate gestures with his baby sister; like flowers, or holding her hand, or not getting a heart attack when she smiles at him. unfortunately, he's starting to develop his jealous older brother streak. now that Ada's a lovely lady, what if some unsavory individual tries to win her hand??!???

the person who smashed through Oz's weakly constructed excuses and lies, and forced him to face the truth. Oz's friend, and one of the very few. He can yell at Elliot and be yelled back, he can attempt to punch him and get thrashed, and wow, he's deliriously happy to have that kind of relationship with someone. His initial shock at seeing Elliot again in Haven has faded into an eagerness to really be close friends with him this time. He doesn't want Elliot to disappear again (permanently) and he's desperate to spend every moment with him. Oz deeply admires Elliot's honesty and his ability to stay true to himself, and even though he sees his death as a personal failure on Oz's part, he's determined not to let regret get in the way of their friendship. also because Elliot would probably punch him in the face if he found out he was being mopey.
Oz still gets eager and embarrassing around Elliot because of his desire to be friends, which hasn't toned down no matter how much time they spend together. It's a relief to see Elliot as grumpy and blunt even after the time they've spent in Haven -- anyone else would have broken down by now, but Oz admires the mental fortitude Elliot seems to have. He's doubly glad that Leo's here for Elliot to depend on as well. He's still worried for Elliot, ever since his death in Haven, but Oz tries not to be too overbearing. It brings back the kind of memories he never wants to revisit again, when he thinks of Elliot suffering. If there was just anything he could do to help...

If you wanted the definition of the phrase 'extremely confusing stalemate' then Oz and Vincent's relationship would be right under it. There are too many conflicting stories and feelings Oz has for the Nightray. On one hand, Vincent is Gilbert's only family and obviously cares for him (even if Gil would rather run in the opposite direction). On the other, Vincent's allied himself with Leo, revealed himself to be the headhunter, and gets on Oz's nerves. He hasn't interacted with Vincent too much while in Haven, which he's decided to fix -- because he might as well get to know him now, because when will he have the chance to back home?
Despite the time they've both spent in Haven, Oz finds himself just as confused about Vincent as he's always been. He just doesn't know what to say or do in front of the other man. Being civil seems to go only so far -- Oz and Vincent are masters are smiling, and it's hard to try and be honest in front of someone Oz can't trust entirely.

The arrival that Oz has always dreaded, and his fears were confirmed when Leo revealed that he remembered what Oz (Jack) did to him. But after apologizing and telling him the truth, Leo had surprised him with a calm acceptance and an agreement to start over -- something Oz was eager to accept. After all, Leo was the first to hold out his hand for Oz to shake and it's a gesture that Oz will always appreciate. He's always admired Leo's ability to be honest, even after his drastic change. With Elliot in Haven, Leo doesn't seem to be in any danger of destroying himself, which Oz hopes will continue. On the other hand, he knows that Elliot will always be a sensitive subject -- and just the sort of trigger button that Haven would gladly manipulate... Oz is eager to be friends with Leo -- or at least someone who the boy can rely on in Haven, even if the town does its best to work against them.

Jack used to be someone who Oz admired. The Hero of Sablier who was forced to strike down his best friend for the good of the world... He pitied him for what he had to do, but admired the strength in his decision. And then. He was shown the truth thanks to Jack. There's absolutely no question about whether or not Oz hates Jack. He hates him for what he forced Oz to do, for his idea that destroying the world would make Lacie happy, for being the catalyst of the real truth that Oz to this day still can't accept. And yet with all of his hatred, Oz takes a big part of Jack's sins on his own shoulders. It wouldn't have come to this if he hadn't showed Jack those memories long ago -- or maybe it would have and Oz only sped up the process. Either way, Oz acknowledges his own part. It doesn't stop him from resenting Jack for his presence in Haven, though now that he's separated from him, he thought that things would be safer for the people around him. After finding out that Jack had pushed Leo off the roof, he's realized that it's just as dangerous as before. But now, he isn't privy to Jack's thoughts and actions -- which seems to make it even worse.

Tough and clearly used to taking care of herself, Izumo is the cool type that Oz fangirls over (please see Alice and Sharon etc). The more he talks to her, the more he's aware of the barrier she's erected around herself, though he's no closer to figuring out the reasons why. There's definitely a distance that's still between them, but Oz hasn't seen anything that tells him he shouldn't cross it. She's stern and cold and possibly hard on herself, but she's not heartless. He'd like to get to know her better, or at least reach a level where she can be semi-comfortable with him.

Oz will never forget that Ciel offered her help when Alice needed it most, even if things still turned out for the worse. He recognizes the ability to cause mischief that all fellow pranksters adore, and he's also peripherally aware that she's a lovely lady! Her relationship with Gilbert bolsters Oz's good opinion of her, because he 100% supports the idea of Gil making friends -- and he's glad that Ciel knows him (further than the superficial GIL'S REALLY HOT impression that so many noble ladies back home have).
Ciel has become someone Oz completely, one hundred percent trusts in Haven. He trusts her willingness to help others, he trusts her motivations, and he trusts her with the people he cares about the most. even accidentally seeing the ghosts of her past didn't turn Oz away from her, rather, he felt a bit more connected with her. She's fast becoming a surrogate mother figure to him (more so now that Sharon's gone) and his usual habit of privacy becomes a lot more lax around her. of course, he's not completely aware of some of her actions (like her bad romance with break), which is good because that might lead down to trauma times for Oz, but there's really nothing he feels that he has to hide from her if she asks. congratulations ciel, you may now enter the bloody murder rabbit confessional booth

Oz genuinely likes Morgan's company, as she has the habit of knocking him out of whatever sorry state he's in without yelling, screaming, or even biting. She's so different from him, and he's attracted to that. He doesn't see anything broken inside of her. It doesn't hurt that she's super cute either... He's interested in getting to know her more and becoming her friend and he won't say no to hanging out with her! (YAY CHESS DATES) He can spend time with Morgan and not dwell on the turmoil of guilt and regret he's got sequestered away in his tiny soul, and as far as he's concerned, that's an actual blessing. Of course, finding her kidnapped as well in the recent plot has got him worried -- but not as worried as he'd be with anyone else because somehow they've become the Cheerful Duo in the Face of Horror.
somewhere along the way of suffering traumatically and physically from all the things haven has thrown at them, suffering emotionally from the loss of close friends, oz began to gravitate towards morgan more and more. her optimism that he had so admired became something of a landmark for him, something to cling on even if everything around him was breaking down. others would call that co-dependency, but Oz has come to appreciate Morgan so very much, enough to call her a close friend, and more. it took an honest confession from Morgan for Oz to realize his own budding feelings which are well... He genuinely likes her. He can't really imagine what he'd do if she left. Plus, his heart flutters a little when she's around (he's got it bad). unfortunately, years of being emotionally repressed has made Oz unsure whether or not he actually deserves her, and he hasn't even canon updated to the part where he Gets Over It. one thing's for sure, morgan is the boss in this relationship pretty much.

Hereby given the Best Roommate Award. The fact that Alphonse walks, sleeps, talks, and practically lives in that suit of armor doesn't bother Oz at all! He's pretty much completely used to the idea and doesn't treat him differently because of it. Instead, Alphonse's kind and selfless nature helps set him at ease almost all the time. He helped Oz when he took a spill on the staircase and refused to be lied to. And instead of being offended at Oz's dismal attempt to lie, he was patient and caring and threw Oz for a loop. He is genuinely fond of his armor-clad roommate! Despite whatever secrets/traumatic past he might have. He feels that Alphonse is really just a young boy who's had his fair share of painful experiences, almost like Oz, except not because he's not a liar or a champion fake-smiler, thank god.

They have a casually friendly relationship that usually ends with Edward calling Oz 'babyface'!! As far as first impressions went, Edward was irritable and TOUGH!! But seeing him interact with Alphonse and then later, with Winry, led Oz to the impression that his roommate isn't just a tiny tot with a short temper. He can easily see
his derethat he cares a lot for the people that are close to him, and that he's not the type to ignore injustices or silently endure. Sometimes, the world needs more people like Edward, who'll get angry when he's angry and punch people when they deserve it. So far, Oz is eager to help whenever Edward asks for it, and is probably going to make up for all the trouble Ed's been through since Oz's disappearance. Now, he's trying his best to look after Winry for Ed while they're stuck in tortureland...dropped

Adorably eager, but clearly more than what she seems -- Oz likes Satou a lot! He doesn't mind her company, and he thought that her desire to fix the piano and hold a concert was admirable. He especially wouldn't mind performing with her in the future. But more than that, he's seen that she has secrets and "sins" of her own to bear, and maybe it's because he understands that particular "sin" that endears her to him even more. He cares about her and worries for her, despite knowing that she's pretty strong herself.

Quite possibly the most timid person Oz has met in Haven. As luck would have it, the both of them hit it off -- with Oz recognizing Crona's loneliness and Crona liking Oz's cheery and sociable nature. He wants to be Crona's friend because he feels like Crona really needs one, what with RAGNAROK... despite the ever-present danger that he sometimes feels. It's not a problem that can be fixed miraculously, and he'll have to work hard at it. He's already guilty for not being around when Crona needed company the most, and he's not sure how to approach their friendship first. Not that he won't try, he'll try of course, only that he hopes he can be of actual use to Crona... and not in the soul-consuming way either. As for Ragnarok, Oz dislikes Crona's weird blood weapon friend, because of his bullying manner and his tendency to pressure Crona into doing things. Leave Crona alone!!
